Sustainability

Sustainable forest management is our professional standard here at NZF and we strive for best practise in everything we do.

Managing the financial, environmental, ecological and social values of the forest is our duty of care as professional foresters, sustainability is what we practise every day with our rotational  forest management. Forests are well known as carbon sinks, but they also hold biodiversity, water, soil & social benefits that need to be managed to ensure a productive forest is truly sustainable.

Forest Stewardship Council® Certification

NZ Forestry is committed to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certification. NZ Forestry holds FSC Forest Management certification and currently has two forests certified under FSC – Rototuna forest in Northland and Te Wera forest in Taranaki. Refer to www.fsc.org or contact NZ Forestry for more information on FSC and the monitoring we do in these forests.
